I cheekily asked Mr Joe that I be cooked a burger sometime and this week my wish came true in the form of a crab burger from "Burger Bar" by Hubert Keller.  The burger is essentially a crab cake but the crab is held together with a scallop mousse.    We're fortunate in that we can buy freshly cooked spider crab and scallops easily and the end result was definitely worth the effort of picking out all the crab (although I didn't even have to do that).  It was a lovely, light, very "seafoody" tasting burger, served on a slice of soft white bread with mayo, tomato salad and some potato wedges.  And, as it wasn't a burger loaded with cheese and bacon, we felt we finished dinner off with some Ben and Jerry's Cookie Dough ice cream.  Nyummm!

In the bedroom...

Our bedroom has been a work in progress ever since we moved in.  It's slowly coming out of the brown and getting brighter and whiter.  I hung my first ever quilt to hide one of the walls, a bare stone wall that hadn't been finished.  Looking closely at it I can see a mass of mistakes but I still love it because it was my first attempt at a patchwork quilt (why would you start on something small?!).  It did a great job and helped brighten the wall.

It also inspired me to make some cushions for the bed.

Since then we've put a finish on the wall which covers the stonework but lets the shape of it show through.  It now needs several coats of limewash which is the next job.  That and plaster boarding the ceiling, blocking in the chimney "hump", sorting the floor...
